Maserati introduced the V6-powered Merak as the more economical version of the V8-powered Bora. Later on, Maserati introduced the Merak SS, with 30 more horses and a 110-pound weight reduction. This is one of those later examples.
This Merak was well taken care of by the same owner for nearly 40 years. It retains its original numbers-matching engine. That owner commissioned a repaint of the car in its original color in 2010. The interior remains mostly original.
The Merak SS currently has just 35,665 miles. The seller notes that it “handles tight and has plenty of power.”
