Sure, Mercedes-Benz built roughly 20,000 examples of the 230 SL Pagoda, but, of those, only 100 came with option 230: A ZF 5-speed manual. This is one of them.
Within the past 20 years or so, the Mercedes has undergone significant work. In 2015, it underwent a complete repaint in its original color, reupholstering of the seats to the original spec and an install of new carpet. In total, it’s had more than $50,000 of work done since 2002.
Despite all the repairs and restoration, the 230 SL retains its matching-numbers engine, gearbox and rear axle.
