No doubt about it, this Jaguar XK140SE requires some work. However, it wears unique coachwork by Giovanni Michelotti, who’s better known for his work with Alfa Romeo, Ferrari, Lancia, Maserati and Triumph.

After this car incurred an accident in 1957, it was taken to Michelotti. He then created an aluminum body in the style of a fastback coupe. Michelotti didn’t stop at the exterior either, redesigning the interior and dashboard instruments.

The car has sat in an unfinished state since 2016, when its own unexpectedly passed away. It sold at auction in 2018, purchased by Jaguar Classic. They reassembled the XK140 with many period-correct parts, but without beginning any restoration work. With that work, the XK140 would fit in at many high-end concours, such as Pebble Beach or The Amelia.

Find this 1955 Jaguar XK 140 SE Coupé by Michelotti up for auction at RM Sotheby’s, with an estimated value of $375,000-$435,000.
