Tired of having the same track car as everyone else? How about this Lotus Exige GT3?

One of only three ever built, it’s currently also one of two to still exist, as one of cars (chassis No. 003) was destroyed in a fire. This particular example, chassis No. 002, competed in the 2006 and 2007 British GT championships with George MacKintosh, Sam Blogg and Alistair Mackinnon behind the wheel.

Powered by a supercharged Toyota 2ZZ inline-four mated to a six-speed sequential transmission, the body is comprised of composite and carbon fiber. Other notable race-ready features include an FIA-rated roll cage, adjustable Ohlins dampers, AP racing brakes, FIA-rated fuel cell and pit speed limiter.

Find this 2006 Lotus Exige GT3 for sale from Wirewheel.com, with price available upon application.

Wrong. Your facts are wrong. 4 cars were built!!

The first was the prototype to homologate the exige as a gt3 car.

cr001 dince 2008 lives in australia and is a long way from where it started

cr002 is the car bought at auction in the uk

cr003 lives in japan.

The fire story comes from the auction house in the uk. They told me the same story. Its untrue and some easy research should see apologies made.

Cr002 (this car) went up in flames at Donington Park Round 1. Cr001 as well as  the rhd prototype car LS3Z-R 00A - Prototype also raced at this round. Cr002 did not finish the race as the exhaust came loose and the rear of the car caught fire eventually being extinguished in the pits. Cr002 was not a right off.

However despite what this article suggests Cr003 hadnt even been built yet nor was it ever on fire... unlike cr001 and cr002 which both had fires.
