Prefer to save the best for last? Then how about one of the last Mercedes-Benz 300SL Gullwings built?

One of just 70 examples produced in 1957, this 300SL underwent a “99-point” restoration by Scott Grundfor in 1998 as well as further servicing from Canepa Designs between 2015 and 2021.

The Gullwing is also accompanied by a set of fitted luggage, a set of reproduction Rudge wheels and “copious documentation” that details previous owners and completed work on the car.

Find this 1957 Mercedes-Benz 300SL Gullwing for sale from Fantasy Junction for $1,675,000.

I remember when I was a kid back in the 50's, I had a metal toy version of a Gullwing.  I dinstinctly remember the doors opening and closing.  I played with that car for quite a long time.  The reason I remember it was because of the oddity ( back then) of the doors.    I wonder who made it?
