Three American enthusiasts petitioned the U.S. government to allow them to enjoy the Porsche 959 Komfort on public roads. That trio was comprised of Ralph Lauren, Larry Hedrick and Norman Stone. This 959 is Norman Stone’s.
Dr. Stone knew art. His collection of masterpieces included works from Andy Warhol, Marcel Duchamp, Jeff Koons and, arguably, Porsche with his 959 Komfort. Media said that Stone “was always early to a trend, in either investment or fashion.”
Believe it or not, this was Stone’s daily driver for more than 15 years. He owned it until 2014.
Find this 1987 Porsche 959 Komfort up for auction at RM Sotheby’s, with an estimated value of $1,100,000-$1,500,000.
