The simplest way to make a car faster? Just make it lighter. That’s the idea behind this 1956 Alfa Romeo Giulietta Sprint Veloce Lightweight.
In order to achieve a lower curb weight, the Alfa Romeo was fitted with a number of changes that included an alloy hood, plexiglass side windows, removal of the sound deadening, and even lighter engine parts.
This Giulietta, finished in light blue over a gray leather interior, is reported to have spent the last seven years being refined by its current owner, “ensuring that all mechanical systems were in top order, all instruments were dialed in and functional, all lighting was both correct and functional, and any errant wind noises were properly resolved with correct fit to the doors, glass, and rubber.”
Currently fitted with a freshly rebuilt 1500cc inline-four by specialist Conrad Stevenson, the car is also offered with a 1750cc powerplant.
