What do you get when you commission a noted Italian automotive designer to showcase the many uses of brass, bronze and copper in the automotive industry? This wild 1967 Exemplar 1.

Bridgeport Brass Company and the Copper Development Association hired design house Coggiola to achieve their mission. The innovative Mario Revelli, the man behind the 1935 Lancia Augusta Farina Coupe, took the lead on the project.

The interior features 11 distinct hues of copper alloy. The exterior has brass-plated Borrani knock-off wire wheels and other brass scents. The car also uses copper disc brakes, brake lines and copper radiators.

Underneath the Exemplar 1 is a modified Buick Grand Sport chassis, with a copper-trimmed 430-cubic-inch V8 mated to an automatic transmission.

Find this 1967 Exemplar 1 by Carrozziere Coggiola for sale at Dragone Classic Motorcars, with an asking price of $750,000.
