The first production Chevrolet Corvette L88

Mecum bills this as “one of the most historically significant L88s in existence,” and rightfully so. It’s the first production Chevrolet Corvette L88, and the only one that came in Tuxedo Black. However, that’s just the tip of the iceberg.

Chevrolet didn’t produce many L88s in 1967–just 20. This example is also the first 1967 Corvette to win the Duntov Mark of Excellence award in 1985.

This particular L88 also carries some racing history with it. Tony DeLorenzo and Jerry Thompson campaigned it in 1967. That year it finished second place in the SCCA National Championship Runoffs at Daytona.

No estimate from Mecum, but I'd think this would bring in toward the higher end of that scale, if not above that.
