The hardest-hitting car to come out of the AMG workshop? The 300 CE 6.0 “Hammer” makes a compelling case. (See what I did there?)
AMG produced fewer than 30 Hammers, with this one billed as the only known example fitted with a 5-speed manual gearbox.
In 1988, the Mercedes-Benz started life as a well-equipped 300 CE Coupe. At AMG's workshop, it was converted to full Hammer specs. Work included fitting the wide-body kit, AMG exhaust system, 320 kph speedometer, and more.
The Hammer would later be sent back to AMG for upgrades twice: first, in 1989, when the 5-speed gearbox was fitted, and then again, in 1992, when the car’s current 370-horsepower M117/9 engine was fitted.
Under the care of its current owner, the AMG underwent a concours-level detailing process. Today, the car shows 57,423 kilometers, or approximately 35,680 miles.
