The Siata 208S used the mechanicals from the Fiat 8V, including the Tipo 104 2-liter V8. Not this, Siata, though. Jimmy Mulgrew of Euclid Ford commissioned Siata to build a new 208S with Ford mechanicals. Hence, this one-off that’s not like anything else.

The aluminum bodywork comes from the famed Stabilimenti Farina. The coachbuilder served as a starting point for many famous designers, such as Battista Farina, Pietro Frua, Felice Mario Boano, Giovanni Michelotti, Franco Martinengo and Alfredo Vignale. This Siata-Ford is believed the be among the last cars to come out of Stabilimenti Farina.

After returning to Ford, it was sold new through the New York dealership owned by Alfred Momo. Momo’s claim to fame was managing the team of Briggs Cunningham and developing the original 3.8-liter Jaguar engine.

Find this 1953 Siata-Ford 208S Cabriolet Speciale by Stabilimenti Farina for auction at RM Sotheby’s, with an estimated value of $225,000-$300,000.
