North America’s exposure to the Lotus Elise has been limited to later Series II and Series III models–until now.

Whereas the later models made use of a Toyota powerplant, the earlier Series I models–like this 1997 example for sale–relied on a 1.8-liter Rover K-Series inline four.

Showing only 64,000 miles since new, this Elise was recently imported from the United Kingdom and is accompanied by “all Records since new including the original invoice.”

Find this 1997 Lotus Else S1 for sale from Wirewheel.com for $29,900.
