Indeed, Eric Clapton bought this Ferrari 365 GT4 BB new. It’s also the same Ferrari that appeared in the inside-cover artwork for his 1977 album “Slowhand.” But, wasn’t that one wrecked? Yes. Yes, it was.

Clapton had only driven it 43 miles before crashing it (he had a penchant for doing that with Ferraris). The current owner bought the wrecked Ferrari in 1975 and repaired it by June 1976, also repainting it red.

It’s been in its present ownership since then. The Ferrari only has 14,900 miles on it and reportedly spent most of its time in the seller’s kitchen.

Find this 1975 Ferrari 365 GT4 Berlinetta Boxer for auction at Bonhams | Cars, with an estimated value of £175,000-£275,000 (approximately $230,000-$360,000 USD).

What a beauty!

Many times as a kid I stared at this album cover, and I've been infatuated with BBs (and the rock star lifestyle) ever since. I remember thinking, "why would he use that picture?". Now that I'm older, that's exactly the one I would put on my album!
