Is the 996-chassis Porsche 911 the next big thing in classic car ownership? Regardless, the first 911 to do away with the air-cooled engine is still a fantastic performance buy that's likely to increase in value.

As for this 996, it’s a Carrera 4S model, still using the naturally aspirated flat-six from the base Carrera but receiving some styling cues from the more powerful Turbo model.

Able to send up to 40% of its torque to the front wheels, the Carrera 4S could be considered an even more capable 911 Carrera–especially in inclement weather.
