Pre-merger AMG was wild. How do we know? Just look at this 500 SEC.

Not long after it rolled off the assembly line, the Mercedes-Benz was shipped to AMG for significant upgrades.

The 5.5-liter M117 V8 was upgraded with dual-overhead camshafts and had its bore and stroke increased, resulting in a 6.0-liter V8 good for over 380 horsepower.

The car was then fitted with a slew of exclusive AMG modifications, including an exhaust, wide-body kit, “Aero III” wheels, and a 300 kph speedometer.

Shortly before being acquired by the current owner in 2021, the 500 SEC received new fluids, valve cover gaskets and a replacement crankshaft position sensor.

Currently showing just 4943 kilometers (approximately 3065 miles), the AMG won a Best-in-Class Award at the Greenwich Concours de Sport and was shown at The Amelia Concours d'Elegance in 2024.

Find this 1986 Mercedes-Benz 500 SEC AMG 6.0 "Wide-Body" for auction from Broad Arrow Auctions with an estimated value of $500,000-$600,000.

I love old MB, this is the only pic of this AMG East car bought out of the Chicago auto trader because it did not meet emissions that I have; possibly more in my Photobucket if I were to pay the ransom. $2200

I was unable to purchase this one; the original owner said he took delivery in Germany and drove it all over before bringing it back to Ohio. It was not in good shape but they are rare

They are still out there
