Vintage F1 racers with competition history don’t always carry seven-figure price tags. Take, for example, this Connaught Type B.

Most famously, Tony Brooks piloted a Type B to a first-place finish at the 1955 Syracuse (the one in Sicily, not New York) Grand Prix, marking the first time in over 30 years a British driver won a Grand Prix race in a British car.

This particular Type B–chassis No. B4–was originally campaigned by the Rob Walker Racing Team in the mid-1950s and, throughout its racing history, was piloted by Tony Rolt, Peter Walker, Reg Parnell, and Verdun Edwards.

Power comes from a 2.5-liter Alfa Romeo four-cylinder engine mated to a five-speed pre-selector gearbox. (The Type B originally sported a four-speed but has since been upgraded.)

Billed to have been “carefully prepared” for vintage racing, the Connaught is accompanied by FIA papers valid until December 31, 2025.

Find this 1954 Connaught Type B listed for sale from Graeme Hunt Ltd for £450,000 (approximately $571,210 USD).
