I asked around this time last year, but now I'm getting serious about it. My Javelin is on a Collector/Classic plate in my state, and is used as such. I would like to have the insurance to match.

Chubb says it has to be worth $25,000. American Collectors won't insure at all if I ever compete in a timed event or DE (which is total BS, I have a regular State Farm policy on it now and I can go drag racing whenever I want, obviously it's not covered on the track). Waiting on calls back from Hagerty and Heacock.

Is there anyone else out there?

(I asked my regular agent, and apparently State Farm's version has very strict driving limits, like I can't drive it to work, even if it's Employee Car Show Day, which is ridiculous).

Thanks for the help!

I have Hagerty on the GT6, Mini and E30. Granted, with the E30 it's a matter of just because it has to have insurance, although I'll probably move it to my regular policy if I fix it and start using it as a DD.

I got faster results calling them rather than using the online quote system.

I have agreed value on the Mini through Progressive. Hagerty wouldn't insure it because my daily driver is too old (90 Miata).

I got denied by Hagerty because I got a speeding ticket within the last two years ... otherwise their pricing was excellent. I am using State Farm now.

So you guys that are insured through State Farm have actual agreed value insurance policies? I have all my newer cars insured through State Farm, but my agent said they didn't offer anything other than standard insurance on my collector cars, which means the value of them according to SF would be next to nothing. With Hagerty I am really just insuring for some pre-determined amount of loss. I can insure my car for any value I want as long as I'm willing to pay the premium, and if it is a total loss, that's what I would get.

As stated above, Hagerty may be your best bet.

Also, Hartland insurance has on-track coverage available:

I just have full cover from SF, they would not do agreed value.

I used these guys for my track car:

My understanding is that if you have a classic insured by SF with a standard policy, in the case of a total loss you will get blue book value for the vehicle, which in the case of my Mustang is something close to nothing. You might want to check on that.
