Must be the newest episode, it doesn't show up on their web site. It's called "A Little Rain Must Fall".
I turned it on 5 minutes into the program so I don't know what part of the country it was, but they walk into a defunct AMC dealership in bad shape. The floor is covered with ivy, plaster and paint chips cover the floor and the brand new AMX there; the 80 year old owner is sitting at his desk as he has since 1954; doesn't notice the mess.
Long story short, the guy has four Nash Healeys in the back. Each had a different drivetrain, three were convertibles. There were also new-ish motorcycles from the 60s & 70s and stacks f AMC parts.
Keep an eye out for it.
Dan
That's a repeat episode, I think it first aired last year. Hot Rod magazine had an article about that place a number of years ago. It is an interesting and bizarre place.
Yea it's an old one and I remember it. The owner seemed lost in time.
Seems like I remember reading an old C&D article about that dealership. Lots of pictures from the outside, but never could get in.
IIRC it was in North Carolina. What absolutely floored me was the general condition of the entire property (not to mention the cars!) yet the folks 'seemed' to be operating it (maybe selling parts? ) on a daily basis.
It's a wonder that whatever Local Government Entity allowed it to be occupied?
Apparently you have never seen Margorie's desk...
I saw it too. Couldn't believe how people just stop taking care of stuff around them.
There was a brandy new AMX in the dilapidated showroom, can I assume it's still for sale?
FWIW, some if not all of the AP episodes are completely staged. I know this because they did an episode at a friend's farm in Tn. They came in, removed everything from his barn and brought in enough crap to over-fill it. They even used a different guy to represent the owner.

I'm not entirely surprised by that. It has to be hard to find enough large, old trash piles to keep up with regular episodes.
Ever watch that guy with the Harley museum? Worse.
Even though you say it is staged. I am now hunting through Youtube and Daily motion for that episode.
American Pickers + AMC. Hmmmm
In reply to Mike924:
To clarify, I didn't say that the AMC episode was staged, as I really don't know. I just know that the one at my friend's farm was staged. They may all be staged, or just some, or just that one, I don't know.
Sorry didn't mean to imply that the episode in question was staged, or the show for that matter. Just that I needed to find it. LOL
I don't think they staged the episode with the insanely strange guy who built a subterranean lair. Some people are just too odd to be fake. That guy reminded me of Marty Feldman in Young Frankenstein.
It's actually one of my favorite shows. So much better than 99% of the "reality" TV out there. I like the fact that they don't scream and insult each other for "drama". Although they know their motorcycles---- they really should avoid buying cars. Their lack of knowledge with the 4-wheeled stuff is pretty obvious.
I saw that one, I didn't used to be claustrophobic!

Maybe they just wanted your friend's farm for a setting and all the junk and the junk owner were actually really a pair?
It is called Collier AMC . I have seen several articles and shows on it. Google it looks legit.

I have the feeling this one was legit, the did not plant all the trees and bushes they had to tear out weeks or months ago to get the car the bought out from behind the back door of the building. That thing has been there for many years.
My wife saw their truck driving around town a few months ago, though nothing from this area has made it on air yet.
This used to be one of my favorite shows but I just got buried in other tv shows. Maybe I should start watching it again..
