This will be my very first Classic Motorsports Mitty and I am really looking forward to it. All I heard when I was at the Grand-Am race at Road Atlanta last year was promotion for the Classic Motorsports Mitty coming up next weekend. It also seemed like everyone around was talking more about the Mitty than the Grand-Am race or Petit LeMans!
With that said, we have a lot of cool things planned for the 2014 edition. Formula Cars as the feature, Brian Redman as the Grand Marshal and Bill Warner as the emcee and extra cool poster artwork form our friend Hector Cademartori is just the beginning.
We also have a great group of partners that are helping support the event as well. Hagerty Collector Car Insurance is our presenting sponsor along with Coker Tire presenting our car corrals. Be sure to stop by the Coker display and talk tires for your collector car or motorcycle with them. Vredestein Tires will be sponsoring the car corral parade laps. (be sure to register early at our tent as these will fill up fast!). eBay Motors along with SafeRacer will be sponsoring our Saturday night party. G-Force Race Gear will be set up along with our new partner Evapo-Rust that will be on hand to de-rust your car parts.
If you have a Corvette, Corvette Central is hosting your car corral. If you have a Mazda Miata, Flyin' Miata will be hosting a car corral just for you. TMI Autotech will have their famed Ariel Atoms on the autocross course near turn 7 giving ride alongs. This just in, I have heard a rumor that Concour De Lemons is coming on Sunday. This is a must see event that expects to bring in over 80 entrants in this wacky one of a kind show of misfit cars from the past.
Car corrals are a big part of the Mitty. There have been invitations sent out to car clubs to attend the Mitty. There should be cars from German, to British, to Japanese, to American etc. that will be attending. if you have a car club and want to attend and need more information, please send me a message and I will help you get set up.
There is all of this and more, such as seeing great race cars of the past racing side by side and nose to tail on the Road Atlanta road course. If this is your first time or millionth time, you should do yourself a favor and join us at the Classic Motorsports Mitty Presented by Hagerty and Sanctioned by HSR on April 25-27, 2014
Hope to see you there!
Hi Rick,
Do you have to register in advance for the car corrals? I would like info on the Corvette corral. I see nothing on the Mitty site, Corvette Central or this site. Thanks for any help.

You don't have to register in advance for the car corrals--- although if you are coming with a big group, you may want to contact us to make sure you can all park together.
The Corvette Central Corral will be just over the bridge leading to vendor's row on the right hand side. ( overlooking turns 10a and 10b. Feel free to contact us for details!

Guys, for anyone reading, I'm with one of the vendors, Millers Oils (I'm with the NA importer/distributor). Joe's tapped me to give a couple of seminars again this year. Last year I spoke primarily about classic applications, then touched on racing oils at the end. Does anyone have any suggestions, or desires for some specific areas they'd like for me to cover? Obviously I'll mention Millers a little bit due to their addressing niche markets, but I try to focus more on oil by type than brand, from the context of comparing them to mainstream stuff for today's cars. Would love some suggestions.
I'll be there sunday. Entering the 510 wagon in the Concours D'LeMons.

Rick,
You say this is your first Mitty as an events manager. Sorry to say it, but this Mitty turned out so well you'll have a heck of a time ever topping it! We thought it was the best we've attended!
Thanks,
Rupert

I agree. I have gone 3 times now and this was the best one. Weather was also fantasic this year too.
Hey Rick,
I was a participant, at least for the first two days till the motor blew and I had a great time. I'm from Texas and Road Atlanta is my favorite track ever. I took racing school there several years ago so I was not a newbie to the track. All that being said, it was a great event. Kudo's to HSR and GRM for putting on an event like this. I will definitely be back to race again next year. New motor goes in this week.
Thanks for all the great comments about the Mitty.
Rupert,
Thanks for your insight. That was very humbling to read your comments and let's me know I am on the right track. I have a great support team of people around me that deserve a lot of the credit that work here at Motorsport Marketing. We have some great ideas for next year to making it better so stay tuned for more details.
Thanks,
Rick
