Hey there goes the patina! In Oklahoma, my car gets sandblasted whenever the wind blows. I just use a good quality wax to keep what paint is left looking nice.

clean the door / hood / trunk jambs quarterly and wipe the seals with silicone spray on a cloth.
a round-ended toilet brush makes a better wheel brush than almost every wheel brush i've ever owned.
Grab a Mr Clean Magic Eraser some time. Try it on various plastic surfaces.
