I like displays of sacrifices made to the god of speed.  ie blown up parts.

Well this is my demonstration that a clamped wrist pin isn't necessarily the weak point people usually think it is..... (the valve was another mishap on an OHC engine)

Phewwwww!      That con rod really was trying to escape the confines of the engine block.  I take it the bolts quit first?
As for the valve?   Did it escape the retainers and attack the piston?
Those deserve a picture frame hanging on the wall.

In reply to frenchyd :

I have been on the lookout for an old Lister (or clone) single cylinder diesel engine.  I tell my wife it would be for a generator, but in reality it would be a show engine for sure.

I also love displaying offerings to the gods of speed.

It's not an engine, but I blew up the final drive sprocket off the Fmod pretty good. Its hanging on the wall of my shop now.

Would you get it running etc and do the paint/decal/ etc work. Or just clean it up?

I plan (should I ever find one) to make sure it is running okay, if not, do a complete rebuild.  Give it a coat of the proper green paint and put it to work.
