Phewwwww! That con rod really was trying to escape the confines of the engine block. I take it the bolts quit first?
As for the valve? Did it escape the retainers and attack the piston?
Those deserve a picture frame hanging on the wall.

I have been on the lookout for an old Lister (or clone) single cylinder diesel engine. I tell my wife it would be for a generator, but in reality it would be a show engine for sure.
I also love displaying offerings to the gods of speed.
It's not an engine, but I blew up the final drive sprocket off the Fmod pretty good. Its hanging on the wall of my shop now.

Would you get it running etc and do the paint/decal/ etc work. Or just clean it up?

I plan (should I ever find one) to make sure it is running okay, if not, do a complete rebuild. Give it a coat of the proper green paint and put it to work.
