If you're within a few hours of Greenville/Spartanburg, SC - stop by Sat. for the Euro Auto Festival - Oct. 19. Ferrari is the featured marque this year -- 400 cars parked on the grass around the Centrum. It's always a good time. And a donation supports the Red Cross.

Yes, a good show. Sadly I'll be at another event that weekend.

I'll try and get there with the kiddos
Great place for a car show, I attended a BMW convention there some years ago. The museum is not very large but they have some cool stuff on display.

Mom & stepdad were in town, both with major knee problems. No walking about for us. Boo.

Ground was pretty wet. Would not have been pleasant for them.
The grass was a bit wet but the ground was pretty dry. Else they never would've parked the cars on it. Nevertheless - with knee problems, it's the extended time on their feet that likely causes the problems.
Only 4 Volvos - 2 no-shows perhaps because of the gray skies. It spit rain that morning, but the roads stayed basically dry. Cool, windy.
But a great show. And mine took 1st place among the Volvos in the People's Choice category. Go figure.
Nevertheless, a first for the Volvo, Ga. Tech wins big, and Univ. of Georgia loses. All in all a great day!
I passed by the car show on the way to the Clemson-FSU game. I wish I had gone to the car show instead.
I was there, and had a blast, and somehow came away with first in class...

Hey travellering-- I've seen your Citroen at Cars and Coffee here in Knoxville. I always thought it was great you brought it out. Next time if you see that 911 give me a shout.
<<<<<<<<<
I voted for your Citroen! Glad it won. Got the documentation from the organizers - and my first wasn't what they announced at the show but rather the first among the Volvos. Which doesn't make any more sense than what they announced -- but what the heck. It was a great show!
Yeah, I have to admit the results were a bit confusing. The Class winners, given out as first, second, and third place, were voted on with the purple sheet in your packet. Only people in your same class could vote on the cars in your class, and this result plus the votes of three official Euro Auto Festival judges determined the places in the class.
However, the winners that were involved in the parade were those who won the popular vote, which was the vote sheet with all the classes where you just picked one favorite from each group.
Therefore, if you won a class place, then those in the know about your particular class liked your car the best, and if you won the popular vote from all the attendees, then your car appealed to everyone at the show. If you won both, then your car was just flat out awesome...
So as not to sound like I'm tooting my own horn, my 81 CX just won in class, while the public vote went to a gorgeous metallic brown 1972 Citroen SM.
Because of the significant modifications to mine, it rarely wins anything at that particular show. It's my favorite show of the year. However, most of the participants appreciate stock/restored vehicles more than they do those that have been modified. Over 10-12 years, I've taken a couple of 2nd places. So this "1st" really surprised me. Suppose it must've been the show 'judges' that turned the tide as I've gotta think all 4 Volvo owners voted for their own car.
