I don't have enough exposure to the TR2/3 to have a favorite. I had a TR4a, but always longed for a six--yet, I don't care for the lines and plusher interior of the TR6, so TR250 it is.
Even when I was younger, I felt like I sat too low in a spitfire, so I don't spend much time looking at ads for it or the GT6.
I've warmed to the lines of the TR7 over the years, but not enough to pay much attention to them. And the Stag has never made my wish list.
OK, I'll take a TR-3 over a 2. Always liked the 4 over the 6. Make my TR4A lite blue and rallye prepared. GT6 over the spit only 'cause I have a ragtop already. I like the Stag. Neat idea but ended up really messed up. And you only seem to see them in brown!

I prefer a Spitfire. Nothing beats the lines of that car, other Triumphs just look too boxy compared to a Spit. GT6 is nice too, but a real British sports car need to be a convertible. A spitfire performs well enough too, good power to weight ratio, especially if you work on the engine. Stock, the engine is just OK but there's enough parts out there to build a fairly reliable (it it British after all) powerplant and have some real fun.

I loved my TR-4A, and like the sound of the four better than the six, so I'll go the TR-4 route, but I like the TR-3 best of all, followed by the GT6 and TR-8 Coupe.
I've owned a dozen Spitfires, a GT6, a Herald and a TR6. I've driven a TR3 and a TR4A and TR7's. The one car I have driven and really like a lot but have never owned: a TR250.
Gotta love the TR 250. It's relative rarity adds to the mystique!

Peerless, a little too frumpy for me (maybe that's not the right term--some lines just look awkward)--but an Italia! Instant smile.
Actually, I'm not sure if any of the tin roofs would work for me now; I've been so spoiled by air conditioning.

I've owned a GT6 and a Spitfire. I'd have to say that my favorite Triumph is one that belongs to someone else.
There's a TR6 running around atlanta with a BMW 6 stuffed in...it's supposed to be pretty fast.

It looks like there are more Triumph than MG fans in our studio audience. Wonder if thats the reason the prices for classic Triumphs seem higher than MGs?
Kinda a MG fan but still want a TR4A, lite blue and rallye preped.

The TR8 and Stag were both on my shortlist last year when searching for a new toy. Ended up with the TR8 after reading too many negatives about the Stag's engine. Although I think the Stag looks more like a Triumph than does the wedge, the (relative) reliability of the Rover engine (once you replace the cam) won me over.

Well I own a 3 and an 8, so I'm biased, but I'd really like a 6 cylindered car, TR250 or 6, one of these days.
If I had to keep only one of my TR's it would be the TR3A, no question. I love the TR8 too, it's an amazing car, but the 3 is special.

This is easy (and very important too). A TR3, at least a late one has disc brakes and is one of my all time favorite cars. A TR4 has better steering than a TR3 and windows that roll up (for you sissies). A TR5 or 250 has the cool looks of a 4 with the engine of a six. A Spitfire still might be my favorite Triumph, but with a six cylinder engine they are even more fun. The TR7 is underated.
I have owned dozens of Triumphs and currently own a TR3, three Spitfires, a TR6 and a GT6.
By the way, for those who think a Spitfire is ill handling, are full of S---. I was again amazed at how perfectly our bone stock 73 Spitfire handled at the track today.
I've had a TR3, TR4, and a TR6. Right now I'm rebuilding a GT6 Mk III from junk for rallying and autocross.
I found the GT6 in an Indiana corn field. They are still out there!
Mr. grmtim. This is slightly off subject but how long has ClassicMotorsport been around. I'd like to see some of CMS old project cars and what happened to them. Thanks
Bryan, I can field that one... Classic Motorsports has been around since 2003. Prior to that, it was British Car magazine, and I believe it had been around in that guise since the late 80s.
Almost all of the Classic Motorsports project cars are on the project cars page, even the long-gone ones, with maybe a couple of exceptions.
