Last week was our club winter lunch.
Cheers Ron
Kaos: Look closely. That is an Abarth 1000 OT. The real thing and makes me drool from both both sides of my mouth and my Spider leave wet spots on the road. That X is one of finest in the country as are the Spiders. They got the trophies to prove it. It is mighty fine company for my daily driver.
Cheers Ron
I saw the badge, but otherwise it's hard to tell that its a real Abarth.
Knowing this, the drool factor just went exponential.
Hmm... until the comments, I didn't realize that I was missing anything. Image didn't resize, no scroll bars... all I could see was the red 124. Nice looking car, but a 1-car photo turnout isn't much of a club lunch!
Nice pic, nice cars... is there a forum problem that it ignores anything wider than 800 pixels? Matt
Same here. All I see is the 124 Spider. I can barely see another car to the right, but can't scroll the picture. Is this a browser thing?
Image resized?
Better, but it still cuts off on the left side for me.
Using Camino; a Mac-specific Firefox.
Whoa, weird. I couldn't see the whole pick this morning. And now I can. Same computer, no changes. Yep, it's an Abarth sporting what appears to be a Cromodora wheel--can't tell exactly which one.
Can you see it now? Yeah, today I can. What changed?
The OT1000 isn't much different than the standard 850 as far as appearance, so don't feel bad if you can't tell the difference. They are probably the least-altered of any Abarth on a Fiat platform. Aside from the coolness and rarity, I don't get the price premium on them vs a good running 903cc 850, but then I'm a driver and not a collector. That isn't meant to take anything away from the awesomeness that is that particular car, however.
I resized the photo. Dwight is correct. There are very few modifciations from a stock Spider. This car could be cloned and no-one could know. The records from Abarth are poor. Some badges and the tricked out motor cover it. We'll call it a sleeper - ha! Maybe it could out drag that VW micro bus. My 850 Sedan couldn't. Cheers Ron
