I think these are the business:

But really. At this point, wouldn't it just be cheaper to buy a small-block?

especially since you still need the seats cut AND new valves, spring seats, springs, retainers, keepers, etc... etc
but it is a nifty piece... shame they didn't show the exhaust ports

To me there is a strong appeal in keeping a six. A tuned six is unique. Throw a small block in there and you have just another bellybutton. Think of the last car show you went to how many cars had V8's? Unless they are full restos a six popper is almost unheard of in an old american car.
I was the only "six" at the last show and if I turned up to the next one with an aluminum head... hoo-wee!
But the cost man, look at the cost!
Maybe one day
That, my friend, is the damn link that got me into this mess in the first place.
There's got to be a way we can work together on this...
I had an opportunity to pick up an all aluminum slant 6 a while back, and the whole block had been polished.
No v8, ever, could look so cool.
The question in my mind is if that aluminum head has any improvements over a stock head, outside of the material itself - what size valves, what do the ports look like. It's possible that it was designed for low performance so it wouldn't be of any real benefit.
But why bother when there are any number of modern straight 6 engines far superior (if less neat) than that, even with an alloy head?
