Historic car ice races March 1, 2008

The Central New York Ice Racing Association will hold it's inaugural vintage car ice racing event near Watkins Glen NY on Saturday March 1st. The target lake is Waneta Lake, just northwest of the village of Watkins Glen. The first two events like this were put on by A.M.E.C. on Lake George. Take a look at last year's event.

Anyone here have a decent looking '75 or older classic car they'd like to bring out and have some fun with?

I'd love to watch that. Not quite prepared to try it since I lack an appropriate car and no experience on ice.

I see the expected old Saabs and a Sprite in those photos, but what about the Volvo from hell? ...I can't remember now if I met the guy who ice races that Volvo at either Pocono or Watkins Glen a while back.

I work with a guy (near Phila PA) whose family lives in Watkins Glen. Maybe we can work something out.
