I've owned this car (< Click here) for a couple years now, and just haven't been able to spend much time on it. Well, I finally got it running and am doing some minor repairs, most of which are the result of it sitting for a couple years - Doh!
I'm going to sell this car once I get everything taken care of, since I have another one that I want to build. But man that TR-6 engine sounds good! I wish you could have seen the look on my son's face when it fired for the first time! And after all this time, it's pretty exciting to accomplish something on it. I hope to have it drivable in a couple weeks, but I'm not in a hurry, since we have about a foot of snow right now. Just wanted to share.

I edited it to make the link a little clearer.
So, who's Null, and why does it say I'm replying to Null?

Good luck with your TVR Project. I am currently doing a frame off restoration of my 1971 TVR 2500.
The one in your picture? That car doesn't look like it needs anything! I hope you keep it that color - I love it! Do you know what color that is?
Great looking TVRs (Both JeffT and bravenrace)!

Yes the car in the picture. I don't know the color name. My plan is to keep it as close to the original color as possible. It has been repainted once. Car was damaged during transport from the UK. Info and color formulations on Classic TVR's...slim to none.
Who knows you might choose to keep yours once you drive it ;-)
Thanks,-Jeff

So is that the original color? Why does yours need restored? It looks beautiful in the pictures. I have two 2500M's, so this one has to go, whether I like it or not. But then I'll have the space to finish the other one, which I am anxious to do.

The color is close to original. Under the hood shows the original as well as in the door jams.
The interior of the car is mint, short of I had to redye the headliner (water stains around the sunroof) and the floor mats are bunching up around the pedals.
The exterior paint is extreemly tired, looks good from six feet but has small bubbles that will chip off if you run your fingernail across them.
The original owner of 35 years used to spray the chassy with undercoater so over the years everything got cover with the stuff.
I took the body off and sandblasted the frame, painted it with Por15. Sandlasted the suspension parts, painted and installed new bushings.
The engine was smoking from lack of driving so I am installing new rings, bearings, and thrust washers. Along with a new set of gaskets all around to stop the oil/fluid leaks.
I sold the Rims in the picture to help fund the project, car came with refinished stock rims. So I bought a new set of tires, new clutch and lightwieght flywheel.
I bought new drums and rotors. Ceramic pads for the front, semi-metallic shoes for the rear. Trying to upgrade the brakes for auto-cross and I ran with the Lotus Club last fall. No trouble keeping up with the Elise crowd but it was a white nuckle ride :-)
The car was advertised as an original car. It had 37 years of grease and grime all over it. I like the car enough to want to get the frame protected and preserve the car.
Thanks,-Jeff
