From our friends behind the Meadowdale reunion:

Saturday, Sept. 13, brought the heaviest rainfall in recorded history, 7.11", at O'Hare Airport! At nearby Meadowdale Raceways, water was ankle-deep on the main straight where cars were to be displayed. Chip-covered trails, intended for use as access roads, had turned into mud bogs.

With a similar forecast for Sunday, it was decided to scrub the weekend and regroup on Saturday, September 27. We apologise to all who planned to come out, even moreso, to those who actually made it to the track, ready to participate.

Meadowdale is a really cool place. We used to go 4-wheeling, and ride mountain bikes out there. I never realized it was an old racetrack until we came upon the paddock area one day. I remember looking around at the tire marks, and stains on the pavement and thinking.....wait a minute.........this was a racetrack!

There used to be a bridge just before the Monza wall at the track. The bridge was long ago washed out, but on the pavement just before the Monza wall it was written "PRAY"

really cool place. They now have signs and paths to lead visitors around the old track. It is just outside of Carpentersville on Rt 31. The track is on the West side of 31.
