Did some more nice driving with my friends ~LAST WEEKEND~
Doug: If you look at the video on my link above (at about the 6:30 mark) you'll see a red PV 544 pass me. The thing doen't really handle all that great, but the motor has stones. Plus our's has cool red flames. There are two PVs and two Amazons (122S) that race with us.
David: As we left Watkins Glen on Sunday, a bunch of guys were pullling in for a Monday PCA track event. And a lot of these guys were using Porsche Cayennes to tow their 911/930/944/whatevers. Also saw one 911 track car being pulled by a VW Touareg, a "cousin" of the Cayenne.
Is that the Seneca Lake, the one that the famous Seneca Lodge is located at? But more important, is the Seneca Bar located there? I'm talking about the infamous watering hole us left coasters only read about in the great novels by B.S Levy. Your pics. are great it looks like you had a great weekend.
Dougie
Yes. Seneca Lodge is located right off the main street in Watkins Glen.
I've been to the bar lots of times.
First time was in '68 or '69. I know the F1 drivers would go there, but I never saw any. Lots of history in the place.....racing memorabilia, etc. Food in the dining area is good and decent prices.
The Seneca Lodge also has these little cabins you can rent. At least 20 or 30 of them. No heat and very primitive....sort like garden sheds with curtains. One step above camping. They look keen to me (and cheap!) but The Missus ain't quite that good a sport so we stay in "normal" places.
