I've been doing the annual Winter tear into the Elan thing, and was looking at my Moto-Lita steering wheel. I'm in the process of repairing/refinishing the dash pad, and also want to replace the wood dash as well. The wood dash was replaced in the 70's I believe and is not looking too good, so a new one is in order. When I get done with those 2 things the old Moto-Lita steering wheel will stick out because it's showing it's age. Not sure how old it is, but my guess is that it's from the late 60's/early 70's. One side of me wants it to look as good as the new dash, and the other says let the patina of the worn leather show it's age. I leaning towards the patina side because if I have someone redo the leather it may not look that great, unless I send it to Moto-Lita, and have them restore it. Any thoughts on restoring vs leaving the patina?
