What are your plans, now that it's in you hands? How much machine shop work? Transferring your old engine's internals or new stuff? Details. details..

The bore is 80.sompn' mm. It will get bored to 82.5mm. Number 3 cam bearing will get rotated 180deg to stop oil flow, since Im not using it. It has a lay shaft that just drives the oil pump and dist. It sits between #1 and #2 cam bearing. Dave Bean is going to send me all the plugs n' stuff to set the block up for my Cosworth head.

Steel main bearing caps, Arrow 5.23in H beam rods replace the 4.93in stock rods. Wiesco pistons machined to accomadate the rod change.

Ill be reusing the cams and the very sweet Nissan crankshaft. Its all balanced to include the light weight flywheel.

Should be some where around 160-165HP. The BDR with an 83.5mm bore was 170HP.

Below is the old block and Cossie head in my Morgan.

Me either! Im pleased that the blocks are selling for a reasonable 1200 bucks. Last summer I almost bought a block sight unseen for $800. When you figure in machine work is not a bad deal.

Smart move by ford.

Bet you'll see a lot of twin cam project cars this summer.

I need some stacks.

Im not so sure. A bare Lotus head is 6000 bucks! I was very lucky to have gotten a sweet deal on my Cossie. But I bet there will be a lot of Crossflow projects!

Sorry for missing some of the Ford details but I didn't know the block came with main caps. Did you have a choice of steel or cast?

The only sort of options for the new block is either a K Xflow block(711M@ 1.6L) or a similar updated "L" Block @ 1.5L.

Both come with Cam bearings and iron caps.

I bought my steel caps from Blue Sky racing.

The Fords website says the Lotus block is 1.6L I belive that to be a misprint...Then I double checked...Its comes with bigger bores. So it still is the shorter block(pre-Xflow, Lotus TC)

Nice!

I can't ever recall seeing a twin-cam Ford in a Mog. Pretty cool.

I wonder how this new Kent engine will affect the new SCCA Formula Fit? (which was kind of replacing Formula Ford, due to the lack of new Kent engines)

There are a handfull of guys with Lotus TCs in there 4/4s. Only a few have the Cosworth unit.

It will fun to see if Ford can beat Honda off the racetrack.
