It looks like all the rumors were true about Ford re-casting and selling the Kent blocks. Both the Xflow as well as the Pre-Xflow (Lotus) blocks are being offered. They seem to be uprated from their orginial specs.
Is there anybody intrested in buying one of these new blocks besides me?

That's very interesting. I'm sure there are a lot of Formula Ford drivers who were glad to hear this.
I think for the SCCA racers, though, the Formula Fit driveline replacement makes more long-term sense for the series.
I will say that this news makes me want an Elan all over again.
Also how about the Lotus Elan, Cortina and the many TVR applications for this engine. We saw the new one at runoffs and it looks great.
I think Im about ready to pull the trigger on the block.

It's funny- when I first saw this subject I thought it would be referring to Ford rally driver and internet spectacle Ken Block.
OMG, it's Ken Block!
There's nothing Classic about him or his car, but it's worth a few minutes to check it out.

The Kent Lives website is a great place to waste time.

I think the Kent block may be worthy of its own article one month. I dont think one block has had so many versions: 1500cc pushrod making like 78 HP all the way to the Group B 635 HP monster that was in the RS2000.
Not to mention that this block and a Cosworth head was the stepping stone for the Cosworth DFV F1 engine.
I just wish there was an affordable alloy block on the market.
