(reposted from GRM forums since some of you here may appreciate them more!)

The little town of Clifton, Va. has a vintage (well, mostly vintage) car show every year on labor day. Cars just parked all throughout the town...on streets, in driveways, wherever. Anyhow, took some pics today. My GT6 was far from being nice enough to enter, and it was almost entirely American iron...a handful of German and Brits, but they were nice ones.

Here's a link to the album if you want to see more: http://s78.photobucket.com/albums/j85/irish44j/Clifton%20Car%20Show%202009/

Somehow a pair of 800+hp Vipers just don't look as sweet with all the vintage cars around Photobucket

several SS's around, all were gorgeous Photobucket

it was clear which one my wife wanted... Photobucket

Mustang = want.

The "car show in the streets" seems to be gaining in popularity. We have a couple of those around here, and I vastly prefer those to the ones in the county park. Reason is, the public is there in higher numbers, and I like showing to the non-car types almost more than the car geeks who think they know it all. The Mini in particular is a huge crowd favorite.

In reply to ddavidv:

I've never been a Ford guy and have never had any particular love for Mustangs, but I must admit that that is one righteous looking fastback ('68-ish?). I love the color and the wheels.

sorry guys, I've fixed the link to the album http://s78.photobucket.com/albums/j85/irish44j/Clifton%20Car%20Show%202009/

David, there was one Mini there, I almost forgot. My favorite part was the skin of an old Red Bull can wrapped around the coil :)

LOL, yeah, I have that on mine too. I don't know where that started (in the UK), but it's almost become an acquired essential to have. Especially appropriate on my wheezing 850.

It's a '67.

I wish I had known about this. I was looking for somewhere to go car-wise on Labor Day. There are three towns in Virginia named Clifton. Is this the one in Northern Virginia, near Charlottesville, or Southwest Virginia?
