Any tips on how to remove the belt line trim from a classic mini? The Haynes manual says "ease it off" but it doesn't want to budge and I don't want to screw anything up.

the new trim came with clips, so how do I pull the old one off with out fubaring the surrounding area?

That is worth a try, will give it a shot tonight.

I just can't get enough leverage to pry it up without risking damaging something else.

I used a plastic drywall my spreader and it lifted right up. It's a press fit (well mine was anyway)

As Cali suggested, I was able to get one edge up with a trim removal tool and then used an old shoelace to pop it up the rest of the way down.

these little fockers do their job well.
