The only problems I had on my 89 325i that I bought new was a broken head bolt and fuel pump. The next year they beefed up the head bolts. Great car for going cross country in a hurry.

no news, but just in case you're a newbie...

I swapped my 91 318iS with anS50B30US, ZF S5D320Z, 2.93 LSD, Dinan Suspension, 11-inchVW front brakes, 15x7 (WOW!) wheels...in 1997.  It has been my DD ever since, over 200,000 miles.  Still my favorite, i.e. "if you could only have one car".

I also have S52 Z3 coupe and roadster, E36 325i, Toyota Mk1 MR2.

Next project is S52 into a 91 325iC.

Cheers.
