Totally in!

Car is a 1984 Porsche 911 Carrera, and my props are hanging off the mirror: passes and badges from past Monterey events. Hope to see everyone soon, and thanks for participating. Can't wait to see some cool cars.

Here's my 1954 Triumph TR2 - early long-door version. Going to miss all the Monterey Car Week events this year, especially the Historics. As you can see, we've been going since at least 2013! Here's to next year's being better than ever!

Hey everybody, quick note:

The main point of the prop is to ensure that the photo was taken specifically for this online event, so that people don’t just use any picture of a car they may or may not still own.

For that reason, we do not recommend using the background as a prop, and we may not consider entries that use the background as a prop as valid if we cannot verify when the photo was taken.

Using an old photo for an entry is not in the spirit of the event, and can be considered cheating.

Acceptable props include souvenirs from past visits to Monterey, Classic Motorsports Magazines or merchandise, any other object that reminds you of Monterey car week (please explain in your post) or even stuffed animals of creatures found in the Monterey area. Feel free to be creative!

Here’s the Monroes’ 64 Falcon on the Laguna Seca corkscrew, followed by Monterey County Sheriff’s finest. The Falcon, GT40p 302 powered, T5 shifted, was on the final lap of Salinas Valley Memorial Hospital’s Cherry’s Jubilee. No, he didn’t pull me over.

Wow, beautiful TR3, great photo, and the way you used your prop is just what we are looking for. Thanks for entering.

Thanks Tim. It's a beautiful car we love to drive. I drove my daughter to the head of the aisle on her wedding day before escorting down it. That was something that was a priority for her when choosing a wedding venue, and a highlight of the day as well. If you're ever out in SoCal, let me know and I'd be glad to show you the rest of my Triumph stable (TR3A, TR4, 2000 Saloon, 10 Estate Wagon and GT6). And you meant TR2, right?!?! ;-)

I saw the grille and thought TR3. Looking again it almost looks like a long door TR2.

So, I'm unclear in what would be a good prop. Id love to submit my 70 duster,  but having never been to Monterey car week, and being a grm subscriber,  im not sure. Howabout i put a fresh grm dork sticker on the car?

A dork sticker on or near the car will do! Thanks for checking!

This is my 2008 Lotus Elise SC. The color is liquid blue - my research indicates this is the only Elise imported into the US in this color.  My prop is a bottle of Clos Pegase Merlot.  In the background is St. Petersburg, Florida.

This is my unrestored 1989 Porsche 944 S2. Owned for almost 20 years. 210K, two state autocross championships, four Porsche Parade autocross wins, and even a Porsche Parade concours win in Preservation class.  (Thank you Porsche Classic and Suncoast Porsche for helping us keep these beloved classic Porsches on the road!)

Prop is a framed Classic Motorsports shirt, of course.

I would just like to say......what a great selection of cars posted so far. They are all awesome, every one. Wish my old Mercedes was ready for pics but it's still in the (perpetual) restoration process. Thanks again everybody. In these crazy times it's wonderful to see some beautiful cars.........even if it's only virtual.

Hah, I was racing there in  2013...I will really missed it this year. I plan to be at the December SVRA Laguna Seca event though.  https://svra.com/events/2020-trans-am-speedfest/

Thrill of a lifetime at the Corkscrew. Spent most of it's time as an SCCA racer. Vintage racer since 2007. Once used for refreshments, tarp lining the cockpit, full of beer.r.
