Yes, there were only a number of cars this year. But you have to start some ware.
The rules are set, who wants to compete? Locally, with the Cal Club we have an active group. Just need more event dates.

Yes, Heritage Classic, an SCCA initiave to get some pre-1975 cars back between the cones.
You can find the rules here.
What are you seeing at your local events? Sadly, we haven’t had many takers here in Central Florida SCCA.
And while the SCCA mentions 1974 as the cutoff date, the club does add that continuation models are welcome so, yes, you can run your 1980 MGB or 1976 2002.

Two cars showed up. The lotus had some wins in the early days of autocross and a nice human interest story attached to it. I am not clear if the Lotus is legal according to the rulebook.
In reply to ojannen :
Yes, very cool to see the Kelly’s Lotus back at Solo Nats. Reading the story now, and thanks for sharing it.
I have a classic mini I could run. HCS doesn't work because I can't fit 22.5" tires and the 18" tires I can get don't have a treadwear rating. HCR doesn't really work because the minimum weight is higher than the stock curb weight. If I prep to SVRA rules, I am also not legal for the class (for multiple reasons including weight).
I can't figure out who the class is for. I am just going to find some carpet and run F Street Prepared.
Don’t forget, local regions are free to make accommodations as necessary:
Local Region Options: The classes above and the rules that follow are offered for Regions to use as shown OR Regions may modify them to suit their local needs. This includes the number of classes, vehicles included/excluded, and/or specific allowances/restrictions contained in the rules. The core objective is described in the “Rationale” above, but specifics may be adjusted to fit the needs of the local participants so they can have fun with their Heritage cars

Don't worry about it - run the 18's. I run my MGA down here in Central Florida, and there might be 2 other cars in the area from Daytona to Ft Myers.... HCS is more a fun class anyway. Chances are you will be the only one in class. If more people start showing up, have the discussions between yourselves as to what is/isn't allowed. Most 200tw tires are nowhere near 200tw anyway ;)
So, just taking another look at the HCS rules:
Eligible Vehicles: Vehicle must be from model year 1974 or older and not produced by a United States based manufacturer. Models newer than 1974, but of the same generation as the 1974 model, are allowed.
Could I legally run my 1984 Porsche 911 Carrera since, other than the fenders, could be called an update from 1974 chassis?
