I've had the MGA out twice in the last few days. Plus 2 C or so. I've got the vintage style pilot's caps with faux fur lining and ear flaps, a scarf, gloves, of course. And if the wife is with me she throws a blanket over her lap otherwise the tonneau stays over the passenger side. This is why I love Vancouver. I can get the sports car out for a drive every so often in the winter which strangely keeps the internet "car for sale" ads surfing at bay. winter drives are some of my favourite days of the year.

In reply to David S. Wallens:

Dave took the GT4 to my first cars & octane in ATL this am, wet roads & 30+degrees @ 8 am, nice powersliding around , the mid engine helped:-)

Also had it out New Years Eve Day, was chaseing a Morgan Aero on PIB he had the top down, I just had to give him a wiff of the 116 octane I had left over from drag racing season, well it had to go somewhere! He had the top down on a 40 degree day I figured I owed him that & about 7k rpm out the stebros. He was at the show this am too we had a good laugh. He said it sounded awesome. ya gotta love this town, even with all the nasty cold weather we are having this year, you always see a classic every day. 400+ this morning. My kind of car show, in by 8 home by 10:30am

I was behind a red Fiat 124 Spyder sans top yesterday at the end of #92 exit ramp off I-95 southbound in North Stonington, CT. It had Virginia license plates. It was a cold day in southern New England, hovering around freezing, but sunny at least. The driver was bundled up pretty good but I bet he was still cold. He went straight. I turned right onto scenic CT Rt. 49 north heading back to RI, so I never had a chance to talk to him.

Incidentally I was warm and comfortable in my wife's Focus with the heat on.

While no help for this year, we picked up a Spitfire factory hardtop over the weekend. Hopefully, we'll have it restored and painted by Fall. It pretty much needs everything (headliner, seals, some minor body work), but it's complete with glass, was only 100 miles away and the price was good.

Today, I woke up to an 1/8" of ice on the TDI... I really need to get the E30 fixed so I have my garage again...

I've been out in my Miata ,with a windblocker, and I didn't even have gloves on at 30 degrees. I'm bald, so I did have a toque on though !

Did you say old or cold? None of the above. I was out top down in 30F on Satuday in the Spider. It takes a few minutes to warm the oil but then seems to like the cold. I am careful with the rear window since it is rather stiff. Cheers Ron

Another snowy day here in Southern New England. It was a tough ride on I-95 this morning, and not a classic in sight on "Friday drive your classic to work day." And this will be followed with 0 degree F temps later on in the weekend (that's -17 C Andre). Then another big snowstorm forcast for the middle of next week. I can't wait for my South Florida winter break in a few weeks.

It seems the US is getting hammered this yr with snow.

It has not been too bad, but I'm looking forward to insulating my garage and spending some time with the cars.

Rare clear, dry and warm weather (50+) here in the Pacific Northwest. No snow or rain in the lower elevations. I took my '65 Austin-Healey 3000 MkIII out for a sweet drive this afternoon. Weatherman says could stay this way into February. Great skiing/snowboarding on MT Hood one hour away, I drive the X5 for those trips.
