Too early to think about 2015?

Wow, where did the year go? Anyone started to plan their 2015 yet? What are your must-do events on the schedule?

I have set a goal to get the Dart back on the road with the new turbo setup by my birthday (April 13th).

Pretty sure I'll be at the Mitty, not sure where else.

Im going to attend the challenge and hopefully be allowed to run the elky in exhibition, take my daughter to Disney, and not die. Other than that, im pretty open.

Pie in the sky plans as of now:

Racing at VIR, Mosport, Watkins Glen, NJMP Thunderbolt, Summit Point, NJMP Lightning. Probably two test -n- tune open track days early in like Jeffapalooza to set up the car and try the new R7 tires.

Or... maybe coming to the realization that it costs a fortune to keep at this for 12 great days per year if luck holds and a lot less if it does not... selling off the whole thing, faking my own death and going on an epic camping adventure across north & south america solo on the new bike.

2014 was a big year for me. First SCCA convention. First Mid Ohio working race event. First National level rallycross (Great Lakes division Challenge). And in a few weeks my first rallycross National Championship.

The only way to add to that for 2015 is my first PDX I suppose. Didn't quite get it done this year.

GRM Experience at the Rolex 24 for the first time -- actually I'm kind of embarrassed to say it will be my first time spectating at any "real" auto racing event. I swear I'm going to get the Goldwing back on the road. I'd really like to figure out a way to work going to the Mudsummer truck race in Eldora. I'd like to work my EMC World 2015 schedule a little better so I can rent a Harley while I'm in Vegas and ride through Red Rocks again. Probably run a couple Rallycross National Challenge events again. Need to take the kids camping more next year. All the good stuff, y'know.

Solo nats, at least 2 other national events. a minimum of 3 out of region locals. That's my current plan. To get there, I am planning on upgrading/fixing the suspension, tuning and if funds allow install a nice header and cat to compliment the current intake and exhaust.

Ha! I am working on plans that extend into 2015, 2016, 2017...heck all the way to 2030! 2015 is already pretty much booked solid.

We in the Spitfire crew are planning to go to the Pittsburgh Vintage Grand Prix next year.

My main goal for next year is to end the year with all three classics still in working order. Right now I have 1, and even that one needs some stuff.

Of course, none of my car plans are helped by ongoing house needs and my plans to do a lot more DH races next year.

After a year of learning the ropes and mostly sorting the car, I'd like to be a force in our already competitive regional rallyx class (WDCR MR). I know the guys at the top are already nervous.

I'd also like to do an HPDE or drive in a crapcan race. Most likely the HPDE and crewing once or twice for a crapcan effort (fun).

Finally I'd like to make it back to the challenge as a spectator/freelance wrench/crew. No build this year and won't be leading one next year either.

I would like to do one historic track per year. Like Mosport, Sebring, ect. I managed to do Lime Rock and Watkins Glen this year, but the car was still getting sorted. Id also like to do Road Atlanta and VIR.

Run UTCC and win overall at the Dragon Hillclimb.

Hmmm, contemplating selling my Merak SS and getting a Gulia sedan.

Either:

A. Finish the van for Power Tour and build a challenge car.

B. Finish the van for our club event and get into Drag Week.

Maybe work on that goal of not working for the man anymore.

I forgot I'd love to do a rally school like Team O'Neil or Dirtfish, but that might be down the road.

Fix the damn MX6 AGAIN and not bail on the Challenge for the 3rd year in a row.

That's the only goal at this point.

I am just now finalizing my plans for 2013. Hopefully it's a mild winter so I can get a head-start on the year that is about to end.

I don't pick for my vacation until December but I am planing on going to the Rolex 24, with the week before hitting a couple things in Virginia and the Carolinas and the week after going back to the Keys. In the fall we want to fly out west somewhere. We don't know what we want to see yet as neither of us have been put there and the list of things we are interested in keeps growing. Depending on work we will also hit some local events at Lime Rock and some area short tracks.

No go. Catastrophic electrical failure likely by my own hands this past weekend. The magic smoke got out.

Get my newly acquired F500 to as many events as possible and get the wheels I want on the Datsun. I'm hoping the F500 will prime completion car for autocross and vintage races, then the poor Datsun can live a care free life of track day duty, maybe even change out the little A-Series engine for an L series tuned for mid range. I hope to get out on the vintage MX bike this year, looks like the car schedule won't conflict.
