vintage decals

Anyone know where you can get decals/stickers of the red-winged horse (Pegasis-spelling?)on the A.H. #76 and the Porsche 356 in the Cars and Coffee 1`-11-08 post. Were they from Mobil Gas and used on Ferraris in The Carrera? Just want a couple of small one for the windows, they are cool. Thanks.

I don't know of anyplace that has the stickers, but I DO know where you can get the artwork: http://www.free-logotypes.com/letter/M_7.html Available in several popular formats. Take the eps to someone who cuts vinyl (signmakers, for example), and they can whip one up real quick for very little cost.

Thanks Tim. I take it Mobil has used the Pegasus for a long time? The owners just had them made up in the colors they liked or did they use to be red and white? Am I correct and remember seeing them on cars from The Carrera?

I know Mobil used the pegasus for many years. I think they were always red or red/white. Carrerra, I'm not sure, but I wouldn't be surprised at all. That was Mobil's primary logo through the 40s and 50s, I think.

I just did a google search on 'mobil pegasus decal' and got a bunch of hits.

Yeah, that would be the easy way of doing it. The advantage of taking an eps to a vinyl cutter is that you can get it EXACTLY the size you want it.

I couldn't find them on the website, but Moon Eyes has them in their catalog.

There are two different Pegasus decals, one for each side of the car, so the the horse always faces forward. Apply the decal such that the nose of the horse is parallel to the ground.
