Although unlikely, I'd love to see an NA Miata on the show field. It'd be an interesting juxtaposition against the Duesenbergs, Ferrari 250s and Bugatti Type 57s.

The one that REALLY put Japan on the world auto consumer map: the original Datsun 240Z. I've been privileged to own one of the very first, my 1970 model, for 44 years now.

Good choice. I think that would fit really well on the show field.

I'd be shocked if they didn't choose at least one RX-7.

An NSX would have to be at the top of my list.

agreed- but not a 90's example. It's a strange class for Amelia ( me thinks they are trying to young up their audience).

Definitely a RX-7/ 8

Mazda thinking out side the box back in the day, bringing this awesome car to the street, unique power plant, great lines,a great everyday driving sports car, still appreciated. What other manufacturer has dared to roll the dice like that.

I told my friend that I was going to submit my Miata. Even though it’s modified, the car is pretty much as it was in 1999. It’s very much a period piece, down to the Jackson intake and TE37s.

Do it?

I hate that this is the right answer, but it's the right answer. It never sold really well and the looks are an acquired taste, but it's a notable car because it changed the way other manufacturers (Ferrari, Porsche, McLaren) designed and manufactured vehicles.

Maybe call it the Velvet Underground of the japanese bubble-era?
