The reasons for parting ways can be nearly anything. Didn’t have the funds to make it right. Sold one to help finance another. Life conditions just changed. Got bored, got frustrated or got impatient.

I've got a 2-fer
My 1973 Datsun 240z. I purchase it in 1986 after returning home from Air Force tech school and sold in 1988 for tuition money.
My 2004 Volkswagen R32, purchased new and became my 'track rat' sold in 2011 - loved that car!!

I thought that I would be responsible (for a change, my wife would add) and sell the Interceptor comvertible first even though I had a chance to buy a rare Maserati Ghibli SS 4.9 coupe (1170 made):
Of course the Ghibli was sold before I was able to complete the sale of the Jensen, but fortune smiled on me and I found this - Lamborghini Isler S (100 made) (I still own the Interceptor saloon behind the Islero and am currently putting it back on the road0
