So the time has come for my FIL to sell his '67 Camaro SS 396 4-Speed. Completely stock, but had a full restoration about a decade ago.

I suggested to him BaT, but I heard a lot about people lately getting their vehicles denied because of various reasons, but usually because the BaT staff hand picks whats going to be on their site. I am going to have to most of the leg work on this, seeing that he had another stroke back in February and isn't mentally able to handle such tasks on any given day.

So, besides BaT, whats a good way to sell a somewhat desirable classic aside from the normal forum classifieds or Craigslist? Hemmings? Classic Car Trader? Ebay? All the above?

Thanks in advance.

Start with BaT. If you don't submit it, they can't say yes. When you submit it, tell a story about the car. Basically, it has to be interesting in some way.

They can provide a photographer for you for a remarkably low price. Quality of photos is a really big plus regardless of what arena you sell it in.

Does Hagerty do any advertising? They're pushing hard right now.

If you can wait a year, you should.

Tons of stuff is coming on the market right now.

Gateway Classic Cars is one option if he isn't out for last-top-dollar.  National chain consignment.  You own it but it lives in their showroom.  They take the pics and do the marketing.  You pay a small fee and decide on the amount you want when it sells.  They then try to sell for more than that.  It's a good concept - each location has 100+ cars, very good for first time buyers to browse when they don't know exactly what they want, and a good network so that if someone walks into any store wanting a 1G Camaro and that location doesn't have one, they can help to sell from other locations and arrange financing and transportation.  No affiliation, haven't bought or sold, just think it's a good concept.

Join this forum and get it posted. Between the members and their friends that are on the 1st gen specialty forums for COPO's etc. you'll get offers pretty quickly. I have a 67 RS SS conv and just posting a couple pics in threads caused people to PM me interested in buying it and it's not even a big block or a manual. Looks like your dad even had bias ply tires put back on it. https://www.camaros.net/index.php?page=active_topics

Get all the trim tag info from the firewall. That's what proves what it was built as in '67.

Edit: I'd much rather have your dads car than mine.
