I just switch to Hagerty after being with Condon and Skelly for the last 15 years. I had a claim last year and their customer service was non-existent. They did cover everything to my satisfaction, but it was painful getting there.

May also want to check with your regular carrier. All mine are insured with State Farm, they were surprisingly competitive and also insure my spare parts.
If you check your back issues of CMS, the July 2010 issue had a comprehensive rundown of classic car insurance. Picking the right carrier depends on use, value, and type of car. What is good for one owner/ car, may not be ideal for another. I'd contact the main players, and see what they can offer. Bonus points if you mention you are a CMS reader!

Although all that I know of has a requirement that your classic car not be a daily driver and will have to show proof that you have a dd.

That’s what I did; simply shifted from my regular auto insurance with AARP (through The Hartford) to their classic car insurance; worked out just fine.

I just had a minor issue with my car and had to have it towed. Nothing major but more than I wanted to mess with in the supermarket parking lot.
Called Hagerty. They couldn't do enough for me. I got a kick out of the fact that in their concern to have exactly what was in the brochure, it took a little longer to find the right guy. The man they found was a local independent (which I appreciated) and he not only backed up my driveway which is on a hill but also helped me push it in the garage.
I even got a follow up call to see if everything went the way I expected. Nice.
Got the car running in no time back in my own garage.
I wanted to go with Hagerty with the TD, but when they found out I'd be auto-slaloming and rallying, they said no, even when I said that I knew that all damage for competition was on my own nickel. I was quite disappointed, so the TD is insured under my regular insurance policy and,sadly, even though it gets less use than either the 911 or the Miata, it costs the most to insure.
So I don't know if Hagerty in Canada works differently than its American parent, but I WAS NOT impressed.
I had my 911 insured with Hagerty in the UK and was always happy with the customer service there.
I've been trying to get my classic bikes onto a policy with them but that's currently on hold, mostly due to my own doing. Mainly because I still have to spend a morning at the DMV to hopefully get them titled here in the UK.
One thing that irks me a little with Hagerty is that I'm getting very different answers when it comes to occasional use of the vehicle to get to work - not as a regular commuter but on an occasional basis. The roads out here are brilliant and I can't always spend half the weekend driving around, so it would be really nice to be able to blow the cobwebs out the exhaust on the way to work from time to time. Trouble is, some people at Hagerty say "no problem", others "no way".
