Okay you guys are killing me.... I really wanted to score this rare TR3B cheap but now it is getting closer to what it is actually worth when you add in the shipping cost to MD. It is a flood car, but obviously was restored in the past so much easier to restore back than starting with a rusty parts car.

So admit it, who is bidding on this one?
Sold for $9,400 someone got a good deal!
Not sold yet.....seller has to accept the offer that Copart sold it for. Currently pending approval of the sale.

How do you know if it is a 3B or not - I don't see a serial number. There might be a bit of a premium on a TCF prefix car, not so much if it is a TSF car.
The VIN was TCF1187L, so definitely a 3B

Well that's nice, although not that rare - over 3,000 built, so a few less than the long door TR-2, for instance. Did it sell?
I owned a TCF 3B years ago. Aside from the serial number, nothing you can't replicate with parts - I always ran all synch OD trans and big bore engines in my TRs, except my TR-2 and Swallow Doretti, which had stock drivelines.
Yes, it did sell. What made it desireable in my book is that we tried to buy one back in 1990 at an auction that had been sitting in a garage for 20+ years. Rusty, needed complete restoration but was complete. We were only going to pay $5,000 and it quickly went over $8,000. This car was obviously restored in the past and was water damaged during the Baton Rouge floods last summer, so water damaged but not rusty. If it was a good quality restoration, a good respray and mechanical rebuild and you would have a desireable TR3. They may have only made 3,000 but how many are left?

I think any TR-3 is desirable (although I don't currently own any) but how much of a premium does the TCF give you over a 'regular' one?
Guess the 3,000 made doesn't impress me - its a lot of cars and many of the cars I own or have owned didn't have a total production that high.
