I need this like I need a hole in the head, yet I am still the high bidder on it...
Wow. I don't think I have ever seen one of those at a vintage race. Racing versions of those are rare.
Vintage racing is more and more interesting to me. Have fun, in a pack, with a more laid back crowd that really frowns on contact. Plus, the old cars are just fun.
I would say the biggest "if" with that car is the safety equipment - or lack of a full cage.
It may be a good idea to contact the vintage racing group you plan/hope to run with and make sure the current roll-bar only is compliant with their rules. It says it has the SCCA logbook, but doesn't seem to mention when the last entry was. Was it raced recently? Unless you just plan to use it as a track-day toy, then have at it. My WAG is based on the sequence of bids, it'll sell somewhere in the $20K range.

I kind of view it as the perfect car to make my own track rat out of. Although it raced back in the day, it was a regional car that had no significance, so it's not valuable in that way. It's a little too hacked to go back to stock original, and it's not race car enough to truly race. I hope it will sell cheap and I can make a TT/DE car that can be street driven to the track.

It helps if I sell the Corvette first!

Maybe for a little bit, but not permanently. I know it's a bit sacrilegious to remove such an old one, but it's not that good and it's not even the car's original one.
The 390ci V8 was rebuilt by Don’s Auto Parts & Machine Shop of Kenosha, Wisconsin in 2016.
oh, how cliche.........Kenosha.....

Sounds perfect. Good luck! Do you have a "max bid" in mind?

Over $16k bid... still in the running?
Yes, but I think I'm at my max now. Much more than this and you're better off just buying a nice driver AMX anyway. Plus I do not think it has met reserve.
Did you also see the comment about the engine specs? Sounds like the car would be limited to mainly track use. Seller runs 110 race gas, but guesses it "might" run on 100. That could get tedious depending on how far from a track you live.
