I'm trying to decide what street tire to run when its wet this season for autox. I was just wondering if you had any plans to do a wet street tire test? I'm considering the conti DW, Yoko ad08r, and Michelin PSS. If the yoks are as good as the others, I'll get them since they are better in the dry, if not, I'll likely get the DW since they are the cheapest.
This was originally posted in the Feedback Forum, but I thought it might get more views here in Grassroots Motorsports.
Bump to bring it to the top.
Just got the conti DW. Will post how they do at vir over the summer.
Huge water channels. Less tread on ground than I would have expected.
DWs seem to be the go-to wet tire. I know a couple guys who trailer tires and have them on their stock wheels just in case of rain.
Wow that's an early start Mike,I know your about 3 hours south of me but I have a min of 7' snow banks in front of my place and its snowing like a bugger right now.
My favorite wet tires have also been my favorite all around street tires which I've put many track miles onto: Toyo T1-S and T1-R. Best water evacuation I've ever experienced. I was doing Mid-O in a torrential downpour and my 1998 Cobra was planted the whole time. On my 2004 X-Type at NHMS after a downpour it was awesome. No input on any new tires Toyo might have but I'm a lifetime fan now.
