Hello all,
Here's the story my daily/winter beater has some issues. Input shaft bearing is gone (5 speed standard), front endlinks, wheel bearings and overall tune up. Car has 285,000km's on it no rust, a little bubbling from stone chips but that's it. I don't want to do the trans. work, too complex for me. Quote I have is $1500 plus to fix everything. Should I trade and move on or fix it and hope nothing else wears out. I'm looking at an '06 civic si or MINI Cooper ('05-06) or bite the bullet and go new and make payments. Thinking about something autocross friendly but it needs to be good on gas. I will be driving 100km per day in the fall. Thanks as always for your input.
Sell (if possible) and move on. She's given her all.
$1500 is about three months worth of payments. It sounds like that money will get you a lot more than three months use out of your civic.

Agreed but water pump is making noise now...Implosion commences. Not going for a new car, just something with less miles.

A non-rusty 05 Civic in Canada? Fix it with a junkyard tranny and sell it to some 20 year old kid.
You will get $4-5K for it easy.
Go for broke and K-Swap that Civic..............
Car is being traded, I'll post pics of the new ride.
Well, Civic is gone got my MINI, after years of waiting. '08 JustaCooper, 6 speed. Loving it so far, first autocross in 3 weeks.

Whew! Dodged a bullet. The mini looks clean as well as that Fox body!

And who doesn't love the Justy. All of the sudden we only have blue cars, that's okay with me.
