The cd player in my 2010 Mazda 5 has all of a sudden stopped working. I will put a cd in it and it will read 'CHECK CD'. I could understand a scratched cd but this thing would play cd's in all conditions not even a couple weeks ago. Any insight on how to diagnose this thing and fix it?
I don't know how to troubleshoot it, but the Mazda CD players seem to be prone to break.
Replace it with something that works. Mine spat out a CD one day and then was stuck trying to spit out CDs that don't exist. Even with the key off it kept at it...WHIRRR, WHIRR, WHIRR. Finally pulled it apart and hit it with a hammer many times.
Got a nice Double DIN with all the fun stuff like USB, bluetooth...
All my searches seemed to point to the fact that the factory 5 disc will break, junkyard replacements ARE broken and fixing it is a waste of time and money because it will break again almost during installation.
