So, the talk of the EB S550 Mustangs got me thinking.
The 2011-2014 Coyote Mustangs are really keeping their value stupidly well. It totally puts a lie to the old 'drive it off the lot and you loose 30%' statement. 2011 GT's seem to start at over $20K unless ragged out. The V6 cars seem to be much better priced, often below the earlier GT's for the same performance.
HAving had two V6 cars (2013 & 2014) they were great, but lacked low end torque compared to the older V8's (duh!) but were a riot at high rpm. Anyone know what a tune does for these V6 engines (out of warranty) ? Does it add to the low end or is it all at the top end? I'm wondering what a manual V6 would feel like with possibly a 3.55 or 3.73 gear in it as well.

Here is what steeda is seeing out of their tune and intake combo. From who I talked to, It's pretty much even across the board for most of the tunes.
Now to fund a stock 3valve 4.6 V8 torque curve from an 05-10 GT and compare it.
I'd love to hear Eric's thoughts on NA V6 flashes....(I wonder if they are hot flashes, are the cars menopausal

More confident than turbo DI tunes. It's harder to really mess it up.
Doesn't seem ragged out, but slightly high miles... $18.5, 2011, 5.0, 6 speed, 80k miles, white http://chicago.craigslist.org/wcl/cto/5055648109.html

My neighbors MCA edition v6/AT gained a good bit of time in the 1/4mi with 4.10 gears, canned tune, intake & exhaust.
I don't think he ever got it dynod prior to supercharging it though.
So The charts are hard to find for some reason but I've seen listed 265-275 HP and 275-290 TQ depending on the dyno. So that puts the V6 pretty close.
As a benchmark, A friend of mine took a V6 rental mustang to the drag strip and it was within .2-.3 sec all night long of our other friend's 2007 GT. I think with Gears and a tune, the V6 mustang is still a really fun car for the $$$. Find a performance pack one wan it's got a very similar suspension to the base GT.

80K miles is a lot for a long term proposition car. You are within a 12-18months of new shocks, key bushings etc. It may not look ragged out, but that would have too many miles for me.

I have 300k mile cars with all original bushings that havent failed although i think i have two high mile cars that have strut mounts or LCA bushings that squeak when it's cold.
